Hello There!
My name is Saravana Gowtham
and I like to eat, sleep and make music.
I am a Guitarist, Bass player, Producer, Composer and a Teacher based out of Bengaluru, India. I've been a part of many bands and musical collaborations over the years such as Savaari, The Sahej Project, Barfi, Verses, Inchara Rao, Asha Bhat to name a few.
Along with playing live, I've also been working in Indian movie industry as a session Guitarist/Bass player/Producer for well known music directors such as Kaber Vasuki, Sagar Gururaaj, Sathya & Jathin, Vijay Harista, Joe Costa to name a few.
I am also the founder and director of WhiteFret School Of Music through which I educate Children and Adults across the globe on music.
I've also been mentioned in a lot of local and international magazines for my guitar playing and composition skills. My solo project Thaagam has been welcomed by post rock fans all over the world.

I started my teaching career at a small music institute in Bangalore where I also worked as a guitar luthier and a salesperson. I always liked being around guitars, It's a great feeling. After working there for an year, I decided to curate my own syllabus and that's when I founded WhiteFret School Of Music.
Being a performing musician helped me a lot in designing the syllabus in a way which is fun and also very informative. The syllabus has been designed in a way which is easy-to-understand and also gives the student a very comfortable approach. One of the best thing about the syllabus is that it allows me to tailor the teaching method according to each individual. I hold one on one individual training on a weekly basis.

My Music
Over the years, I’ve had the joy of playing with some amazing bands and artists, but there’s always been a part of me that needed its own space to explore, express, and just… be.
That’s what my original music is all about. I now release my solo work under my own name, Saravana Gowtham. This journey started out as Thaagam (meaning thirst in Tamil) a name that captured my constant craving to create something honest and personal. My sound blends everything that’s shaped me - rock, metal, post-rock, and beyond. Expect groovy bass and drum-driven foundations, with melodic and often melancholic guitar solos weaving the story.
